I’m honored to have a guest feature on today’s issue of The Lost Songs Project, a hilarious music publication that focuses on the more forgotten hit singles from our favorite artists (think “My Name is Not Susan” by Whiney Houston.) Of course, I chose to write about Prince. His 1992 single, “Money Don’t Matter 2 Night” doesn’t get as much love as his other hit singles and it really should because it has everything - a Spike Lee directed music video, a political message that is still relevant today, and a fashion choice by Prince that I would call the peak of his prettiness.
Check out the post and subscribe to The Lost Songs Project. I’ll be featuring a guest post by Mark this Thursday!
Thanks Annabel, that means a lot! This was the first of a few collaborations he did with Spike. He also did the soundtrack to Spike's film, Girl 6 and after his passing, Spike included an unreleased version of "Mary Don't You Weep" in his BlacKkKlansman soundtrack.
Loved this post. Didn't realize Spike Lee had done the video!
